A drop, race pace, non-stop ride in November? Is there a Tour de Jingle Bells race on the calendar in December?

Have fun with that...

Mike - I think the planned end time is a good idea - for the reasons you mentioned. With the later start time it can really cut the day short. Due to limited riding time I'm not sure I'm ready for 20 mph/avg but I know the way home. I may need to catch on with the B-killers.

Hollywood - this is a really good idea as well, especially for riders that are new or unsure of the way home.

Unfortunately I will be absent this Saturday as my lovely wife has a 5k run in Denison and I will be actually running with her! I tried it earlier this week and it almost killed me. I will be back next week. I agree that the "A" ride is basically the pace of the fastest riders. We do regroup at times within reason, but it is a drop ride. Most of the routes we have done this year are aroud 50-60 miles. Almost all route have "bail points" for all those that have to be back at a certain time. If anyone wants to suggest routes, please PM me.

We plan our B routes based on wind direction and concensus of the group of how long everyone wants to ride. We try to have a point where folks wanting to get back by 10:30 or 11:00 have place designated to turn home. This works very well.

As far as B following A that has really been a problem unless A leaves 5 minutes ahead. Otherwise most B riders get blown up, This old man included.

We have restarted the B - Stingers to allow for C riders coming up and those wanting more of an endurance ride. B - Killers could follow A if the Killers want to do the same distance and route. Alot of times we do follow the same routes or merge the two groups. 8)

It ain't that complicated, just come out and ride! 8)
