King of Wed ride?
what can anyone tell me about this ride? http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/KoW-King-of-Wednesday-Ride I hear it is fast and this is a ride you can easily be abused on. My question is does the whole thing run fast or do they pick it up at different points? Is there ever a regrouping point? How many show up? What is the key to success on this ride? tg

This is the Texas Flyers ride http://texasflyers.org It is normally a very fast ride that is done in a race format. King of Wednesday (KOW) Ride Ride Name King of Wednesday (KOW) Day / Time: 6pm beginning 3/26 Location: Start location is Clayton Downing Middle School in the Bridlewood Subdivision of Flower Mound. Pace 18 - 22 mph (intermediate to advanced riders) Description: This is about a 30 mile route up through Argyle, over Hilltop, and back through Copper Canyon. The majority of it ridden in a road race format at 20+ mph. Route: See New Route Map

It doesnt really take off until they hit Porter Rd., but then get ready to open it up! They are pretty much balls to the walls for the remainder of the ride, which includes a nice little trip up Hilltop after about 30 miles into it. Bring your climbing legs, cause there are some fast climbers who run with this group. Regrouping.....only at the end when they return to the school parking lot.
