Another Good Service Experience
I have been doing business with Bicycles Inc for the past several months after a few bad experiences in a row with Bike Mart. Anyway, I had another great experience today. Took my bike in for a new tape job which they did while I waited. Afterwards, I asked the service manager there how to check if I had water in my bike since we dealt with a lot of rain the last couple of months. He put my bike on the stand and took off the headset and seat post and dumped about 4 ounces of water out. He then proceeded to tuneup my shifting mechanism and lubed all my cables and shifters. He finished off by lubing and cleaning my chain all the while giving me a clinic on things to help keep my bike in good shape. No charge. Pretty darn good service if you ask me. The service manager in the Keller store is Gilbert Linares. Ask for him. The Keller store is only 21 miles from Corinth so if you are looking to have your bike serviced, give Bicycles Inc a try. Disclaimer - I was paid absolutley nothing for the above.

Bluebonnet is good too!
At the recommendation of Tim I took my bike to Bluebonnet to see if they could get my rubbing chain/sticky deraillier issues sorted out. I'm doing the Goatneck this weekend and really needed it done ASAP. Even though they are a week out on servicing, when they heard the "Thrasher" had sent me they took a look and Scott the mechanic spent about 20 minutes lubing and adjusting cables, deraillier, and brakes. He really went above and beyond and I can assure you when I get ready to buy a new bike - probably in the next 6 months - I will start my search there due to this experience and the proximity. The only problem is I kinda had my eye on the new Trek Madone and they don't carry Trek. I may need to get some Club input on Orbea, Bianchi and Fuji.

Scott is a great guy. If we could just get him to come out and ride with us..... Glad to hear your bike is ready to rumble again.

My opinion, as a long-time customer of Bluebonnet: although the N. Metroplex is rich in excellent shops (see previous postings on this thread), Bluebonnet is second to none. I bought all my current bikes there, including my Orbea Orca, which is a fabulous ride (and Orbea has improved it even more for 2007). I've never gotten better service at any bike shop, anywhere; and I don't know a more conscientious mechanic than Scott D. By the by, the folks at Orbea up in Arkansas are really cool, too: very easy to reach by phone and to chat with. (Lance and Jack ride Orbeas, too; and of course Thrasher is a long-time Bianchi man.)

Glad to hear Scott took care of you. Good bunch of people there. Talk to Alex & Jack about the Orbea, they both have one. Talk to you soon Tim

(For some reason, my response to Jimmy didn't include my signature. In any case, I, Alex, wrote that. And this.)
