A Group on August 2nd - More Evidence A Helmet Works
On the A group ride today, Matt H went down extremely hard as we were doing 33mph. He hit a bump or depression in the road which caused his front wheel to turn straight left. His helmet did its job and perhaps saved him from serious injury as there was a small crack in it. He suffered some serious road rash but the bike was ok and incredibly none of the riders behind him in the paceline went down. All in all it was a nice ride except for the crash of course and we ended up with about 57 miles on the Blackjack Wild route. We had almost 50 riders on Saturday spread among the various groups. Was really nice to see such a big group.
